DEAR FRIENDS,
At the heart of the Perot Museum of Nature and Science lies a simple but
profound mission: to inspire minds through nature and science by creating
unique experiences that lead to moments of personal discovery. We’re thrilled to
share that over the past year, more than 1 million learners of all ages engaged in
transformational experiences with us — from witnessing the once-in-a-lifetime
Great North American Eclipse and exploring the world of T. rex to discovering
science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the community, in the
classroom, and throughout our exhibit halls. Our TECH Trucks, outreach programs,
family science nights, and live science demonstrations all work together to ensure
we deliver impactful, relevant STEM experiences to the widest possible audience.
The Perot Museum is a vibrant, ever-evolving institution where our own scientists
are actively making revealing discoveries, empowering us to showcase worldclass specimens that excite and inspire our guests while also adding important
knowledge to the paleontological record. We’re pleased to announce our new
research partnership with the Reynolds Field Station in New Mexico, where our
paleontology team is now conducting 昀椀eldwork to study ancient plant communities
preserved in the site’s rich geological deposits. The exhilarating expeditions of
our scientists in the 昀椀eld and the breathtaking adventures of National Geographic
explorers continue to invite our audiences to discover and dream.
This year, we also welcomed two exceptional leaders to our executive team: KC
Hurst, chief marketing and experience of昀椀cer, and Drex Owusu, chief learning
of昀椀cer. Their arrival comes at a pivotal moment as we unveil the newly transformed
Moody Family Children’s Museum. Our youngest guests represent the future STEM
workforce, and we are committed to inspiring and equipping them for success as
they navigate a rapidly evolving world largely de昀椀ned by STEM. This completely
transformed space, reopened in May 2025, will deliver cutting-edge experiences
that encourage and reward our earliest learners to be both curious and courageous.
The Perot Museum continues to listen, learn, evolve, and lead. As STEM careers
surge in our region at twice the national rate, we’re intensifying our efforts to
create accessible, transformative STEM experiences for everyone, everywhere.
We are inspiring the next generation of skilled technical professionals while
empowering all community members to understand how STEM enhances their daily
lives and helps them realize personal goals. Our ambitious road map for the coming
years will signi昀椀cantly expand our community presence and maximize our impact
through bold new initiatives.
