THAN A GAME
Soccer: More Than a Game — a groundbreaking
10,000-square-foot original exhibition exploring
the fascinating intersection of science, technology,
and the world’s most beloved sport — opened in March
at the Perot Museum and is captivating visitors from
across the world as international attention focuses on
our region. Dallas hosted nine FIFA World Cup matches
in the summer of 2026, more than any other North
American host city, making this a historic moment
perfectly timed for the Museum’s original exhibition.
This exhibition has attracted unprecedented support,
with presenting sponsors Amazon and Verizon leading
a diverse coalition that includes American Airlines,
Bank of America, Kroger, Lonsdale Resources, Texas
Counter Fitters, and Texas Instruments, among others.
Approximately 70 percent of exhibition support came
from partnerships new to the Museum, reflecting the
broad regional appeal of this international collaboration
with Mexico City’s Museo Interactivo de Economía.

The exhibition features five immersive zones that guide
visitors from soccer’s ancient origins to today’s cutting-edge
innovations. Guests experience the team locker room and an
electrifying entrance tunnel, recreating the moment players
emerge onto the field; explore The Field’s cultural exhibits,
showcasing global impact, creative design, and sustainability;
discover the biomechanics and data analytics behind the
game in C.L.E.A.T.S. (Coaching Lab for Excellence in Athletics,
Technology, and Science); test their skills in The Academy’s
hands-on training ground; and receive personalized
career recommendations based on their performance,
along with a take-home digital souvenir.
Through interactive displays and innovative technology,
visitors can test kicking skills, build AI-augmented stadiums,
see robots play soccer, and discover the countless STEM
careers that support professional athletics. Whether
die-hard fans or curious newcomers, all visitors discover how
physics, engineering, and data science are revolutionizing
the beautiful game while igniting their passion for science
and learning.
