DEAR FRIENDS,
Looking back on 2025, we are proud to say this was, without question, a landmark
year — one in which the Perot Museum of Nature and Science grew bolder, reached further,
and moved our mission to inspire minds through nature and science forward in meaningful
and lasting ways. In May 2025, we unveiled the completely reimagined Moody Family
Children’s Museum, marking one of the most transformative moments in our institution’s
history. Expanding from 6,250 square feet to nearly 11,000 square feet, this project
represents our deep commitment to early childhood science, technology, engineering,
and mathematics (STEM) education. The new space features Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam’s
stunning textile climbing structure, interactive digital experiences, a dynamic water-play
area, and countless opportunities for hands-on discovery. We designed every element
with a singular vision: to create a place where our youngest visitors can explore freely,
ask questions fearlessly, and experience the joy of making their own discoveries.

We’re excited to share that this year, more than 1 million learners of all ages engaged
in transformational experiences with us — from exploring our permanent exhibit halls
to participating in mobile TECH Truck programs across North Texas. Behind that number
is a child building their first circuit, a family marveling at a T. rex fossil, and a teacher
discovering new ways to ignite curiosity in their classroom. This year, we impacted more
than 128,000 students through financial aid, ensuring that economic circumstances never
determine who can access world-class science education. Our outreach programs, family
science nights, and field trip experiences all work together to deliver impactful, relevant
STEM learning to the widest possible audience, reaching neighbors for whom traditional
museum visits remain challenging.

The Perot Museum is a vibrant, ever-evolving institution where our scientists are actively
making discoveries that advance scientific knowledge. We’re pleased to announce that
the National Science Foundation awarded our paleontology team a significant grant
to expand our understanding of ancient ecosystems, underscoring the rigor and importance
of our scientific work. This year also brought an extraordinary plesiosaur discovery
by our team, which generated international media attention and reminded the world why
museums like ours matter. These expeditions in the field continue to reveal world-class
specimens that excite and inspire our guests while inviting our audiences — especially
young people — to discover and dream alongside real scientists doing real science.

Our Museum continues to listen, learn, evolve, and lead. As STEM careers surge in
our region at twice the national rate, we’re intensifying our efforts to create accessible,
transformative experiences that show learners of all ages how science connects to their
daily lives and helps them realize personal goals. Bug Lab invited visitors to explore the
remarkable world of insects and discover how these tiny creatures solve complex problems
that inspire human innovation. And our newest exhibition, Soccer: More Than a Game,
reveals the physics, engineering, and data science behind the world’s most popular sport.
We are inspiring the next generation of skilled technical professionals while empowering
all community members to understand how STEM shapes the world around us and opens
doors to opportunity.
